Hartung - Departed this life on August 27, at 2:15 A.M., at Johns Hopkins Hospital, FREDERICK HARTUNG, son of Teresa Hartung.
Day by day I saw him fade,
      And slowly sink away:
Yet in my heart I prayed
      That he might longer stay.
His spirit has flown to regions blest,
Where suffering and trials are over:
So peacefully as rest on Jesus breast,
      And happy for evermore.
      By his friend Nellie

  • Notes
    • Freddie's parents born in Germany. Theresa Hartung was his biological mother but he was listed as adopted in the 1880 census with John and Mary Hartung. Was he the son of William Henry Hartung, Adolph's brother? Why is he buried in Western Cemetery with the George Hartung family?

Frederick Hartung Death Certificate No A69823, Western Cemetery records indicate that Frederick was first buried in Druid Hill Park and reinterred in Western Cemetery on 12/20/1894. Death Certificate states he was buried at St. Vincent’s Cemetery, Clifton Park.

He’s listed twice in Western Cemetery under Frederick and under Milton Hartung.
