Funeral services will be held at the Rock View Baptist church, near Barnardsville. The Rev. W. L. Edwards and the Rev. George Hensley officiated. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Active pallbearers included: James Young, Ray Anders, Edd Boone, Louis Young, Emmitt Wright and Natt Banks, grandsons of Mrs. Allen.

Surviving Mrs. Allen are four daughters, Mrs. L. W. Young, of Horseshoe, Mrs. Sallie Bishop, of Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Geneva Riddle of Horseshoe, and Mrs. John Banks of Dillingham; three sons, J. F. Anders of Lenoir by a previous marriage, Will Allen, of Barnardsville and S. M. Mrs. Allen was a native of Yancey county, and had lived in the Ivy and Barnardsville sections most of her life. When she was born, the United States army was combing this section for Cherokee Indians to take to Oklahoma. The Mexican War was fought when she was 10 years old. She lived through the War between the States, the Spanish American War and the World War. She also recalled Indian skirmished and the days when Jesse James and his band of outlaws roamed the west.

West funeral home, Weaverville is in charge of arrangements.
